Our Driver Training program is designed to build these essential skills, helping both individuals and business achieve greater productivity, fuel efficiency, safety and uptime.
We established our Driver Training Center in 1997, even before the rollout of our very first truck from the factory in India. What began as a humble initiative has now grown into a full-fledged training facility that has successfully trained more than 1,80,000 drivers to date.
Our training goes far beyond classrooms. At the driver training center in Volvo Hoskote factory, drivers explore the advanced features of our trucks, learning how innovation translates into performance, while at sites, they gain real time exposure, tackling challenges, and mastering conditions.
This holistic approach of structured learning and hands-on practice ensures that every driver understands our trucks inside and out. We ensure they don’t just operate the truck, they unlock its full potential, driving with confidence, safety, and efficiency.
The training programs:
Basic Driver training -
At our Driver Training Centre in Hoskote, drivers receive a comprehensive training program that imparts understanding of Volvo Trucks, its advanced features and related benefits. With a focus on safe and responsible driving practices, the program helps reduce risks while improving fuel efficiency and overall performance. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical learning, drivers are equipped to get the best out of every trip.
The refresher trainings –
Our refresher training keeps drivers updated with new features and technology in Volvo Trucks. It is conducted regularly at sites, allowing drivers to attend without affecting regular operations. Their progress is tracked to ensure continuous improvement.
Fuel Efficiency Services -
Connectivity and advanced analytics are transforming driver development. Through Volvo Connect, our telematics platform, we collect and analyze vehicle and driver performance data to identify specific improvement areas. Using the FES toolbox, we turn this data into actionable insights, enabling targeted coaching and personalized on-ground training delivered by our experienced driver training team.
Train the trainer –
We help drivers grow into trainers by empowering them with the knowledge and skills needed to train and mentor others within the organization.
